Marin forsøpling

The Mannar Region Systemic Solutions partnership is investigating systemic solutions based in fisheries. The projects is targeting marine litter sources in the Gulf of Mannar and Palk Strait. It is a transregional cooperation between India and Sri Lanka and we are using research methods we have developed together, to map the sources and quantities of fisheries related marine waste in the area. We will based on these findings have dialogue meetings with local authorities, producers and users, to see how potential actions can be taken based on experiences from Fishing for Litter and EPR programs in similar contexts. The goal of the project is to collect data on systemic solutions that are verified with the different stakeholders through tailored dialogue processes.
