Marthe holds a PhD from the University of New Brunswick, as a marine ecologist specializing in variability in marine systems. In SALT she applis her analytical and study design skills to tackle various aspects of the marine litter challenge, specifically predictive mapping of beach litter concentrations in relation to geomorphology and collaborations with fishermen to reduce gear loss and dumping.
