The Hunt for Lofoten
The Hunt for Lofoten – you are Lofoten, but what is Lofoten to you?
SALT has led the place identity project The Hunt for Lofoten. The project has strengthened Lofoten as an attractive place to live and work by highlighting the qualities, advantages, and values that are unique to the region.
Throughout the project, we traveled across all six municipalities in Lofoten, meeting local residents and gathering their perspectives on what makes Lofoten a good place to live, and how we can further strengthen it as a place to live and work in the future. Children in kindergartens, school students, business leaders, politicians, long-term residents, newcomers, and seniors—all were given the opportunity to share their voices.
The Hunt for Lofoten has defined the qualities on which Lofoten’s place identity should be built, through the stories of the people who together embody the region. Based on these stories, we developed a visual profile that is now used in promoting Lofoten as a place to live, work, and visit.
The project is owned by Destination Lofoten and financed by Innovation Norway, Sparebanken Nord-Norge, and Sparebanken 68°NORD.
