Jomfruland National Park Center
For hundreds of years, the majestic lighthouse on the island of Jomfruland has guided ships along the Telemark coast. Now, the lighthouse also guides the way for curious and adventurous visitors seeking knowledge and new experiences.
The Jomfruland National Park Center opened in the summer of 2024, located in the old Lighthouse Keeper’s Residence on Jomfruland. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey from seabed and kelp forests to sandy shores and oak woodlands. Its aim is to invite visitors to dive beneath the surface to discover the plants and animals living there, while also learning more about life on land, surrounded by birdsong and spring anemones.
SALT served as project manager and developed the exhibition in collaboration with Jomfruland National Park, Brekka & Kjølseth Designs AS, Signal AS, Cinemarine, lighting designer Lucjan Golas, Lei en biolog, and many others.
