Fishing for litter

Marine Litter

Fishing for Litter is a program where fishing vessels are incentivized to take part in the fight against marine litter through free delivery of collected litter in assigned marinas.

FFL was implemented as a national pilot project, financed through the Norwegian Environment Agency (2016-2017). SALT AS (SALT) has been responsible for the planning and implementation of the project, on behalf of the Environment Agency since 2015.

As of 2018, the project has been financed through the Norwegian Environment Agency's subsidy scheme that finances projects implementing measures against marine litter.
