Molly Reamon
Advisor

Molly is an advisor at SALT’s southernmost office in Arendal. She holds a master’s degree in coastal ecology and is finalizing her PhD at the Centre for Coastal Research, University of Agder. Her research focuses on mapping oysters and mussels in Skagerrak using towed video, and on how climate change may influence the future distribution of these species across Europe.

Her love for the ocean began the first time she dived beneath the surface along Norway’s southern coast. Growing up in Michigan, surrounded by freshwater, it felt like discovering an entirely new world – one she’s never stopped exploring.

She has extensive experience conducting fieldwork along the southern Norwegian coast, something she truly enjoys. At the same time, she’s passionate about data analysis and visualization, and particularly interested in understanding how coastal ecosystems change across space and time.

Before joining SALT, she led a marine restoration project at the County Governor of Agder. When the opportunity arose to work with marine management at SALT in Arendal, the choice was easy – with her deep connection to the coast and strong local network, she knew this was where she belonged.
